About Tenby

Tenby is a seaside town that has been on the tourism map for over 200 years steeped in history and surrounded by an imposing medieval wall.

Tenby has impressive beaches and their very own Harbour beach has been voted best beach in Europe!  Castle beach boasts impressive views!  On North beach you can try some adrenalin pumping jet skiing, go on a donut ride, water-skiing and much more!  At Castle square you can book boat trips!  South beach is 2 miles of golden sand backed by 10 ft high sand dunes that stretches out to Penally and Giltar.  It also offers watersports!

You can learn all about the history of Tenby at Tenby Museum and art gallery on Castle Hill.  The museum is child friendly and there is lots there to keep the kids entertained!  Here on the hill you will also find Wales' national monument to Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband.

You can join a guided walk of Tenby or explore for yourself by following the blue plaques on the houses and buildings of note.  Find out how a medieval family would have lived at the National Trust owned Tudor merchant's house.  In the centre of the town is the largest medieval parish church in Wales, St. Mary's!  In the harbour is the tiny but perfectly formed St. Julian's church, built in the early 19th century for fisherman so they could say a prayer before heading out to sea.  The RNLI  station is accessible from Castle Hill.

You can take a boat trip over to St Catherine's, home to a Victorian fort and Caldey Island, owned by a community of reformed Cistercian monks!  Explore the historical priory and have a taste of the famous Caldey chocolate and fudge!  Or treat a loved one to some Caldey perfume!

You will find a vast array of shops in Tenby, everything from independent boutiques, larger supermarkets, art galleries and the Royal Chartered indoor market and amenities such as a tourist information centre, schools, sailing club, cafes, pubs, fish and chip shops,  bookshops, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park centre shop and 3 golf courses - Tenby golf course, Trefloyne Manor and Celtic Haven.
