Very Efficient Team!

"Very efficient team! Your driver found us on time, even though the house we were staying at was right at the end of a remote lane. The dispatcher had made a big effort to get all the location details. A pleasant chat on the history of the Lizard area made the journey to Redruth station an education. 5*s!"

About Lynmouth or Lynton

Lynmouth & Lynton is a village and town (respectively) in Devon, on the northern edge of Exmoor.  The village straddles the confluence of the West Lyn and East Lyn rivers, which occurs in a gorge 700 feet (210 m) below the town of Lynton.  The village and the town are connected by the very unique funicular (water powered) Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, itself a sight to see, clinging as it does to the cliff face and certainly not for the faint hearted!  The renowned artist Thomas Gainsborough, spent his honeymoon in Lynmouth and described it as "the most delightful place for a landscape painter this country can boast".

The village today is a very picturesque place and it is hard to imagine the destruction and loss that was caused by the flood of August 1952.  For more information about that terrible natural disaster click here

Lynmouth and Lynton are wonderful places for fishing, walking, or just standing and taking in the stunning surroundings.
