About The Roseland
Not surprisingly, the Roseland Peninsula is part of Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for the quality of its landscape and unrivalled coastal scenery. There are secluded coves, creeks, wooded countryside, pretty fishing and rural villages, beautiful beaches and scenic cliffs and headlands.
The Roseland’s principal village, St Mawes is situated at the southern end of the peninsula and is a pretty harbour with whitewashed houses. St Mawes is dominated by St Mawes Castle, a clover leaf shaped castle built by Henry VIII. Other Roseland villages include Veryan with its famous roundhouses, the twin villages of Gerrans and Portscatho, and Portloe with its tiny harbour.
The 2009 film documentary "And Did Those Feet" suggests that Jesus Christ may have visited the Roseland Peninsula. The legend of Christ's visit to England is depicted in William Blake's poem "And did those feet in ancient time".

Where is The Roseland?
Roseland is located in the south of the county and contains the town of St Mawes and villages such as St Just and Gerrans. It is a peninsula, separated from the remainder of Cornwall by the River Fal and is bordered on the east by the English Channel. Access by road is from the A390 via Tregony. There is a car ferry, The King Harry Ferry, at Philleigh (B3289) which saves a significant amount of mileage if you choose to visit Falmouth and are travelling by car.
Where can our The Roseland taxis meet you?
Any of the villages on The Roseland, but because of its extremely rural nature, the choice of where to meet is best left to our customer. Don't forget we can collect you from anywhere you choose, be it a pub, yacht club or harbour, restaurant or castle! Or of course we can come to your own home address or holiday address.
