About St. Keverne & Coverack
St Keverne (Cornish: Lannaghevran) is a Civil Parish and village on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall. Of all places, this is where the Cornish Rebellion of 1497 began and was led by a man called Michael An Gof. An Gof mean 'smith' in Cornish. There is a memorial stone in his honour in the village. Just over 2 miles away (3.5 km) by road lies the seaside fishing village of Coverack which means 'cove of the stream'. Apart from several watersports that take place in Coverack, the village is very close to The Manacles which are popular with divers from all over the world. There are two public houses in St Keverne and and a pub and several places to eat in Coverack.

St Keverne is a large parish. It extends to around 10 miles of coast from Nare Point at the mouth of the Helford River, to Kennack Sands. It lies just 1 mile from the coast at Porthoustock and 11.5 miles (18.5 km) by road from Helston Guildhall. Some approximate straight line distances for interest are:- Lizard Point is 8 miles (13 km) to the south west, Lands End is 28 miles (44 km) to the west, whilst Falmouth lies 7 miles (11 km) to the north. Truro is 15 miles (24 km) nor-nor west.
Similar to St Keverne, Coverack lies 11.5 miles (18.5 km) by road from Helston Guildhall.
